Access to quality medical care is a challenge for many communities – and the LGBTQ+ community faces many of those challenges daily. As physicians, we should always be seeking to improve our medical and our personal skills. Join us on September 1 to discuss gender-affirming care, and other tips to create a more welcoming and safe environment for gender-expansive patients. Participants will receive real-life examples of approaches that were successful, and approaches that could still be improved.

Christopher Swales, MD

Dr. Swales (he/him) is an active primary care provider with Woodland Clinic Medical Group, currently practicing in Davis. As a member of the LGBTQ+ family, he has always focused on this community, and, a year into practice, the opportunity to learn more about gender affirming care presented itself, he found himself starting on a journey to learn what was never taught in medical school or residency. He has done grand rounds in the past with the Mercy system, and has twice been invited to help educate the UC Davis medical students on gender affirming care.
