Presented by: Betty Nelsen, Art Instructor, American River College
Starting with the skull, Betty Nelsen, an Art Instructor at American River College, will demonstrate how the study and knowledge of the anatomy of our facial muscles relates to understanding both the expression of our emotions and the capturing of them by artists. "Anatomy art" dating back to the 17th century and images from mid-1800 anatomy books in the Museum's collection will also be shown.
