Medical History Lecture Series
Battlefield Medicine
Presented by: Donald Hayden, MD
The Sierra Sacramento Valley Medical Society Museaum of Medical History invites you to it's next lecture series to hear about how lack of organization and preparation early in the war affected the medical care of soldiers, and the condition those soldiers faced. See how leadership, women in nursing and the Sanitary Commission ultimately improved medical care. And learn how the treatment of diseases, surgery, amputations, anesthesia, hospitals and patient management evolved during the Civil War and how these factors had an effect on future medical care.
The event will be held at the medical society building located at 5380 Elvas Avenue, Sacramento, 95819, in the 2nd Floor conference room (ADA accessible).
Seating is limited -- call the medical society at (916) 452-2671, to secure a reservation.
